Football

is really boring to watch. It lasts for soooo long. When I want to watch a program on TV its usually 30 min to 1 hour long. Football matches are 90 minutes long + 15 minutes break + 30 minutes before and after with self-absorbed guys who think the most important thing that just happened in the world is the match that is about to be/was just played, and they have to talk about it as if it was a meeting in the Security Council.

I promised the priest before we got married that when Manchester United is playing, he will (not the priest, the husband) get to watch it without ANY form of protest from me.

The priests nowadays are weird huh. I'm going to sleep. Luckily for me the commentary is in Norwegian and he doesnt care to listen to it, so I can put the sound of and sleep. Again. All I do is sleep in this stupid, cold, WET, dark season.

"Diddi!!"

When we have a visit from our little princess, Alma Fafaly, she is the center of attention. Of course. But her attention is more often than not directed towards my husband, popularly called Eddy among friends. And Diddi by Alma. When she hears his voice or sees his picture, her voice gets all cheery and she utters: Diddi. Very cute.

Here she has spotted a picture of Diddi in the newspaper. It took only 5 months before he became a celebrity in this little town.

"Diddi!"

Eating delicious emotuo and nkateenkwan on a Sunday, as it should be! Daddy is watching.

After such a heavy meal its time for a little rest. Or not...

One woman, one vote

Tomorrow I'm voting for the first time.

Yes, you heard me right. At the age of 26 I am going to do my civic duty for the first time in my life. No, the voting age in Norway isnt 26. No, I'm not a total moron who dont care at all. I have perfectly good reasons, that can be connected with my African passport (last post).

2009 is the first in 8 years I haven't set my foot on the African continent. During all the elections that have passed, I have been in some African country that has
a) made my voting impossible or
b) made my voting too complicated to bother (shame on me).

My interest for politics is way too low. Considering the country I live in, the richest country in the world, considered the country with one of the best living standards bla bla bla, all is too good here to have a burning passion for who is the Prime minister.

But it does matter! This year its more important than ever to vote, because a terrible, ugly, stupid party might very well take over the Prime Minister's seat. I'm not gonna tell you anything about them, mostly cause I'm not informed enough to make a sensible argument. But to sum it up: They want to cut taxes so our welfare system is gonna crumble. They dont want foreigners in Norway and are afraid of "Islamization" of Norway. They wanna spend spend spend, WHILE cutting taxes... And alot of other things that is not good. But alot of people seem to think its good. They won the school elections, where high school students vote just to check the temperature amongst young people. Yuck. So tomorrow after work I'm marching in to the City Hall in Levanger to do my duty.

And hopefully this guy...

And not this woman...

becomes the next (or actually continues as) Prime minister of Norway.

My African passport

My passport and I have travelled between Norway and Ghana and Tanzania quite a few times since I first got it 10 years ago. Well, this year it was over. I had to get a new one, and the police lady made two holes throughout my whole passport! But at least I got to keep it, and I figured out a way to remember all my journeys that have left exquisite stamps and stickers in my passport.

The pic is not so good, but my travels hangs in a frame in my apartement. I like.
